What we believe
At Whaley Bridge Parish we are all on a journey of faith together. We welcome you to join us, whatever doubts and questions you may have.
As Christians we believe that in Jesus, God has come very close to us. Jesus walked this earth before us, and that with Jesus as our companion and guide we can travel through life differently. We can live and travel as pilgrims together. We set our sights on God’s kingdom of justice and peace; and our journey home to God becomes more meaningful and joyful, and the world a better place.
The Bible is where we find out about God, and especially the Gospels, which tell us about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. You can read the Gospel of Mark here.
Christianity isn’t just a Sunday thing, it’s about how we live each moment of life. The bread and wine of Holy Communion is the “food for the journey” that gives us strength to face the challenges of life. Prayer is a way of opening ourselves to God and his love, and letting that change us. Praying helps tune in to God’s loving purposes for us and our world.
